Defense spending has been dropping for decades. Since that same time period federal spending on education has been increasing.

There are major differences. College is completely different than K-12 schooling. K-12 schooling has a strict curriculum, less freedom in that you can't skip classes or leave in the middle of them. You are in class 35 hours a week in K-12 where it is around 15 hours a week in college and so on. Also, college is an investment you make as an adult. That is the real value of college. But if you want to go to Kyle's viewpoint of extremes why not have the government completely raise us from the cradle to the grave? Kyle is being foolish here. There is a stopping point. Most feel it is K-12 and college is on you as an adult. Why stop at K-16? Why not age zero to death? Where is your stopping point and why? As for the record, I am a graduate student pursuing my PhD and your viewpoint of college is flawed.

@felixii4931 , I have taken an economics course. Friedman is still popular. Wolff is a nobody. He is a business man trying to sell his radical Marxist ideas.
1
@jameslondon68 , better not say you are a millionaire, they will claim you are the enemy and greedy.

Why not have schools from age zero to death? Why stop at K-16? No, an argument against free college is not an argument against free high school. We offer K-12 to our children. After that you are an adult. College is an investment you make as an adult. Also, we feel K-12 is all you need. If you want to take Kyle's route why not have the government raise our kids straight from birth all the way to death? Is that logical?

@thepolishlatinofromphilly9709 , it isn't a straw man. If you want to go Kyle's logical route do cradle to the grave entitlement.
1
@thepolishlatinofromphilly9709 , where is the stopping point?

Uh, this isn't simple economics. You are creating a system that will cause inflationary problem. Student debt is around 5% of total GDP. You are essentially adding 5% to the total GDP which can cause major inflation. Those who don't believe consider how the housing market, which is 5% of GDP, caused a crash. Next, since 2010 banks are not a part of the federal student loan program. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/26/us/politics/26loans.html Finally, if you forgive student loans those who paid off their loans, or those who paid their way through college will sue in that they would want money back as well. Where is it fair that someone was responsible and paid off their loan and someone else didn't?

He is a con artist that is trying to sell you something. What he said here was rather foolish. Forgiving all student loans is not simple as there are many moving parts.

@Smalltown_Man , I would like to debate Kyle one of these days. How about his fans set it up.
1
@robertpresley1503 , i am not. Just saying that for years we have been increasing spending on education and cutting spending on education.
1
@somerealnews6312 , true. Bernie is not an honest character. As Hickenlooper said Bernie wants to throw a plan out there and let everyone else pick up the pieces.
1
@gradostax , ok, arrange the debate. If I get "destroyed" I will stop coming to these videos.
1
@GeorgePiazza , define "educated" . Would you rather have people repeating what is told to them or have them being productive? We are one of the most productive nations in the world.
1
@madingo02 , I literally provided sources for my statement. It isn't a lie.
1
@Minecraftrok999 ,you are looking at raw dollars. You need to look at it as percent of GDP. https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/MS.MIL.XPND.GD.ZS?locations=US
1
@neondiddle2039 https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/MS.MIL.XPND.GD.ZS?locations=US As percent of GDP defense spending has been dropping. You need to look at that.
1
@neondiddle2039 , you see, this is annoys me about the far left, they are not consistent with statistics. One the issue of wage they compare wages to inflation but on the issue of defense spending they just look at raw dollars.
1
@BaronSaturday66 , I am a PhD candidate. I am very educated.
1
@BaronSaturday66 , how about you push Kyle to debate me.
1
@derpjesus3468 , on the video point Stephen Michael Davis has many videos on far leftists like Kyle and it does not put a dent on Kyle's views. Kyle has to be challenged directly. He won't be as he lives in a bubble. To be completely fair Kyle is not an expert, but neither are other talking heads like Ben Shapiro. I am not an expert on many topics Kyle talks about but I read opinions of experts. If I were to debate Kyle I would go beyond talking points and literally point to experts. Kyle, in his debate against Razorfist, mentioned something about fact checking and studies. I would throw so many studies and facts at him from experts he would fall apart. To defeat Kyle you have to play him at his own game. He claims to have facts on his side. I can take the exact same facts he has and use experts' interpretations of them to counter his views. It would be interesting to see how he reacts. But his fans are too chicken shit to set up a debate.
1
@neondiddle2039 , why are times peaceful? Could it be because of our military? Ever considered that? Also, our defense makes up less than 4% of our GDP. I agree there is little criticism of the spending, but it does not change the fact that the far left wants to spend like crazy. Pointing to defense spending is a distraction by the far left, not an argument.
1
@BaronSaturday66 send him a tweet. Maybe if enough of his fans do it he will respond.
1
@whyispinkysoinsane7898 , I do debate people here.
1
Because those things are arguably not better.

There is a difference between education and skill.
