For one, with a simplified tax code people can save their money as opposed to being forced to spend it for write offs. Our tax codes forces this kind of behavior. Also, a lot of this is people living beyond their means. Most lottery winners go bankrupt for a reason.

There are two reasons for this 1. The government, with the tax system, forces people to spend. For example, one of my colleagues earns around $90,000 a year. They are just above the tax bracket to 28% which after paying that they will have earned less this year than last. So to avoid it they just bought land as an "investment" for a tax write off. Our tax system is a mess. 2. People are bad with money. People live beyond their means.

Raising the min. wage leads to jobs being lost and hurts those at a disadvantage, like the poor.

Bob Feen, that is true. As Ann Coulter said, the republican idea of removing the department of ed (which Reagan promised to do) was creating No Child Left Behind.

Traci M, it isn't about tax cuts. It is about simplifying the tax code. Make it simple so people can manage their own money more.

Count Deku, around 70% of lottery winners go bankrupt. That is because they have poor money management skills. So yes, many people live beyond their means.

"Wage growth PPP has been stagnant for decades while economic productivity has continued to rise." It isn't that simple. There are many reasons why you see that trend.

"Except, that this "simplified tax code" means that even more rich people will qualify for even more tax loopholes," A simplified code has no loopholes.

"My point is exactly what I posted: the free market did not create the Internet and has developed it poorly." The free market made the internet great. If left up to the government the internet will be useless. Remember, the federal government could not build a website.

Hexx, private companies created tracking numbers, not the post office. The post office is inefficient.

"It's immoral to not let kids work in my opinion. Society treats children as if they will suddenly understand everything once they reach the magic number. The only moral method of teaching them about life is through work. No mines, no sweat shops; just some regular work experience." Very true. Our society cuddles kids and then at the age of 18 releases them to the world on their own. It is rather extreme.

sprybug, seriously, do you have anything else on me? I stood by that comment. You had radical groups who were violent and a problem in society and someone died. I can't feel bad for that. I asked you this in before and you have not answered. If David Duke was killed by someone in that day how would you have felt?

"Obviously there's some reason that your dogmatic beliefs are true in spite of all the contrary evidence reality unrelentingly marshals against them. " What evidence? "Websites are not the Internet" I know. However, the federal government could not build a website. " Bitrates and uptime for Internet service in the US are among the worst in the industrialized world." Depends. In our many rural areas yes. Remember, we are a large country. In many areas it is so desolate that there is no signal at all.

Nick, 1. I know how brackets work and tax write offs. Why is it that corporations pay almost no taxes? Because of write offs. Our tax system is too complicated and needs to be simplified. 2. Around 70% of lottery winners go bankrupt. That is because they have poor money management skills. Same thing applies here.

Daniel, low wages are there because of the payroll tax. Also, saying "low wages" is a bit deceptive because goods and services are cheaper and better in many ways. Healthcare costs are high because we have not control over it due to how involved the government is.
