@MustyCustard , most of my friends are immigrants so no, I am not against immigration. I am against illegal immigration. I have a friend from Iran, one from Nepal, one from India, one from Mexico, etc. Illegal immigration is a problem. They are coming here without records and are taking drugs into our nation. The democrats are extreme and I can break it down very easily. Look at the two presidential candidates for the dems. You have Clinton who did not rally in swing states because she felt she had the election won. She is clueless in what the common man wants. Same with Warren, Pelosi, Schumer, etc. They have no clue what the common man wants because they are extremists. Now look at Bernie. He has no desire to listen to the other side. Look at how the treated the hair salon owner during the Ted Cruz debate. When asked about expanding her business to over 50 employees and how she can pay for healthcare Bernie said he doesn't know. He did not care about her business model, her profit margins, how much is in payroll, taxes, etc. He just saw a business that needs to pay. Compare that to Bill Clinton in 1994 with posed with a similar question by Herman Cain. Clinton gave him numbers on how a business operates and had a discussion with Cain. It showed that Clinton took the time to understand how a business operates knowing that the law he was pushing for will make doing business harder and that he was willing to understand their position. I can give many more examples, especially with Bernie, but the fact is the political left has no desire to listen and understand the other side. That is why Trump won. The democrats have no desire to listen to the other side. They rather berate the other side and punish them if you disagreed with the left, and the political right was too PC to say anything back. Trump did and won. And now he is winning more.

@BaronSaturday66 , yep, he took credit for it. And then he tried to work with Democrats and they refused. So he re-opened the government. Now the responsibility is on the democrats. The democrats said to re-open the government and then they will talk. Now it is open. If they refuse than Trump will build the wall anyway making the democrat look like the bad guy. Trump has shown he is willing to compromise and even re-opened the government, now the ball is in the democrats' court.

@anticorncob6 , Trump gave democrats a deal and was willing to give democrats things they wanted. They refused. So Trump re-opened the government seeing if democrats are true to their word that they will talk when that happened. Now the ball in in their court. If they don't get something passed then it is clear they refuse to work with republicans.

Justin Griffith , Trump won because democrats are too far left and are dividing our nation. You have people who hate Trump but have zero reasons why. Listen to Bernie, he calls Trump a racist and bigot but never gives examples in how. Look at how they treated Kavanaugh. Look at how much the media lies about Trump. The fact is the political left, as in the politicians and media, are delusional and radical. Him getting the wall and winning in 2020 will hopefully get the far left to realize the errors of their ways. We will see.

If Trump gets the wall that will be the death of the democratic party as it stands now. The reason why we have Trump is because the political left is so extreme they refuse to work with republicans. They are so established or so extreme and lost that they think they are serving the will of the people when they aren't. During the shut down Trump gave democrats a deal, they refused. Trump opened the government to allow federal workers to be paid, to allow him to give a SOTU address to rip on the dems and display the real problems, and also place this issue in the hands of Congress as the democrats said for him to open the government and then they will talk. Trump looks like the logical and rational one here that was willing to work with others. Come Feb. 15 if nothing gets done Trump will push for a National Emergency and get his wall where democrats will get nothing when they had a chance to get something. Come 2020 democrats will be destroyed and maybe they will realize they need to become more moderate.

Now Trump is going to get his wall and democrats will get nothing. Face it, the political left is extreme and it is hurting you guys. I suggest you become more moderate very quick.

The law has it so he can declare a state of national emergency. https://www.congress.gov/bill/94th-congress/house-bill/3884 Congress can stop it with 2/3 votes in both houses. Also, "national emergency" is not clearly defined in the law thus the SC will have to interpret it when it comes to them where Trump does have a very strong argument on his side that this is a national emergency. So his method is constitutional and legal. It is a part of checks of balances. You have a divided congress that is getting nothing with one party refusing to work with the president purely for political reasons and a problem is not getting solves. So there is a method to stop that with that law. Sorry, but you need to read up on law more if you want to discuss it. Trump looks like the reasonable one because he gave the democrats an offer, they refused. He tried to work with them,they refused, so, as a last resort, he went to a national emergency. Thus democrats get nothing.

@mckenzie.latham91 , actually there are a lot of facts and stats that support Trump that this is an emergency. He has many intelligent people on his side. You keep listening to the media and keep doubting Trump but in reality he knows what he is doing. Enjoy that wall.
