It isn't a question of if humans play a role or not, it is a question of how much and is it really bad. We can't destroy our economy on something that has so much doubt

Darckense Onoda I agree we need to go to a route of alternative energy. I actually feel that if we pulled the federal government off this issue and allow the states to handle it, and private businesses than we will have more advancement. As a scientist it is the politics that are hurting advancement. We are making advancement as it but we are hindered by politics.

TheStoneSpiral Our "noticeable impact" is like what, less than a 100 years? That is a minute amount of time in a 4 billion year old earth. The question isn't if man plays a role, it does. The questions are is how much and is it really bad. We can't make radical decisions that hurt our economy on such a doubt.

It is a debatable issue. Man is playing a role, climate change has been happening for over 4 billion years. The questions are how much of a role is man playing, can we really do much to change the effect, and is it really bad? We can't ruin our economy on such a doubt. The funny thing is that I read that a few weeks back in a Physics Today article in my lab. Now I am not a climate scientist, I am a physical chemist, but I do know quite a bit about science and do know more on this issue than most people in society. That is the pure truth, there is too much doubt on the issue to make radical changes. We have to continue to do research on it and continue progressing on alternative energy which we are doing very well. But we can't make radical decisions on such a doubt.
