  1. We are not reaching bad economic times except in some select areas of the nation like NY and CA. This current situation is the result of a virus and government locking down, not because of a crack in the system. States are opening up and are doing so with great success. There is also signs of a herd immunity suggesting that there will be no second wave. Thus the economy will grow as people become less scared to go out. States like CA and NY are simply on a power grab and are trying to blame Trump and the federal government and it is not working. So those states will fail, but the rest of the nation will do strong.

  2. What are the "most basic function"? That is vague. You can ask 100 different people and get 100 different answers. Also, this should show you how inefficient government is. So why trust it to manage our healthcare, education, economy, energy sector, etc? This virus is showing who are the power hungry elitists. Luckily most are pushing back to reopen the nation.
