Oh look, another poll. I guess if it makes you feel good then keep pushing the polls. Meanwhile Trump won running on cutting the government.

Kevin Allen, election results show what people want. People vote for Trump and the republicans and have been voting republicans the past few elections. People know they will cut government programs, it is no secret.

Thomas, Trump aside, how did the other republicans win?

Hermes, I have always been skeptical of polls. Lately ultra liberals like Kyle are pushing polls saying that the people want X by then end up voting for Y. As far a me understanding statistical analysis, I have a math minor and I am a doctoral candidate in physical chemistry. I understand statistics. Understand that these polls are vague in questioning and are phone polls which have been unreliable since the 90s with caller ID.

Kevin, Trump lost the popular vote because CA and NY have a large enough population to stack votes towards Clinton. That is why they electoral college exists, to prevent a handful of states from running the country. Also voter turnout was around where it has been the past few elections. The idea that we had low voter turnout is not true. I agree that Trump promised not to cut social safety nets, and in a way he isn't. With medicare for example he is not cutting it. he just slowed down the growth in spending increases. That is not a cut as it will be funded the same and will increase in funding. Is what Trump did political talk? Yes. But that is how politicians speak. Welcome to politics. "What Americans want in the majority of gerrymandered districts or in the majority of states isn't the same as what Americans generally want." And this is why the founding fathers wanted state rights and did not want a centralized government. Sorry, but just because ultra liberal areas like LA, NYC and the bay area want ultra liberal policies does not mean small states such as Wyoming should suffer. "And Obama wasn't a Republican." I know, but republicans took over the house in 2010 and congress in 2012 and keep winning.
