Look at SS and Medicare. They are running out of money. When SS was created the age to receive it was the same age as life expectancy. Now people are living longer. But suggesting to reform SS to raise the age will be political suicide. This is why certain positions like those in the Federal Reserve and SC justices are not elected as they have to make unpopular and difficult decisions. I am not resorting to insults. Katherine Baicker put it, those individuals are poor and bad healthcare is associated with those in poverty. So the question becomes do they die due to lack of access or due to being in bad health to begin with? As written in the book "Being Mortal", people seek modern medicine to live another 5 or 10 years but will only live another 5 or 10 months. So even if you give access to care to those people and they live 5 more months was that a success?

Also, when people cite papers to me I read them and break them down. As for "your experts do not explicitly oppose Bernie's policies", ,no expert takes an ultimate route as these issues are complex. That is the point. You keeping saying "because I said so" even though I am not the one making these arguments, the experts are. I cite them. If someone lives an unhealthy lifestyle at what point do you blame them? Next, healthcare requires someone's services and goods. So are you going force healthcare providers to give up their services? On the min. wage, again, only around 3% earn at or below the min. wage. Businesses have the option to pay less but don't. On healthcare I will point to you the fact that Medicare took over 40 years to finally cover prescription benefits due to how inefficient it is. As Katherine Baicker said to Congress in 2009 "On the other hand, a single payer system does not automatically provide high quality care: the provision of low-value care is as pervasive in the single payer Medicare system as it is elsewhere. Single-payer systems are also slow to innovate – as suggested by the fact that it took Medicare 40 years to add a prescription drug benefit, long after most private insurers had done so. Nor do calculations of the costs of a single-payer system measure the utility loss from forcing people with different preferences into a monolithic health insurance plan. On the 3%, that comes from the bureau of labor statistics. Think of the work force, the vast majority earn more than the min. wage. And again, it isn't me saying these things, experts are. The experts are making these arguments. That is how they act. They can argue a point but also not support it. But I am very critical on the fact that Bernie fans ignore the other side and dismiss counter arguments and concerns of Bernie's ideas. See how Bernie dismissed that hair salon owner from Fort Worth? Or how he just waved his arms in the air when Hickenlooper brought up legit concerns of Bernie's ideas? I listen to counterarguments from Bernie fans. They are literally just talking points or them just dismissing my arguments. For example, on M4A I have asked how will you prevent healthcare providers from raising their prices. They say that M4A will stop it. I say how. I am never given an answer. They say they will just punish the providers. I say how as that is fining them and thus costing them more money. Bernie fans don't understand the complexity of these issues and feel that Bernie can just snap his fingers and everyone will fall in line with no complaint.

My question on the min. wage is legit. Besides, countries like Denmark have no min. wage, bet you did not know that.

So what you are saying is wrong. As for better outcomes, it depends. The US is superior on survival rates when it comes to advanced illnesses. In Canada people die waiting for "elective" heart surgery. The reason why there is not major cutbacks, if at all, on Medicare is that everyone is effected by Medicare. It isn't like Welfare where only the poor are on it and and many transition off of it over time. But Medicare is showing an example of these social programs. They are running out of money because programs like these don't get reduced, the compound to where, eventually everyone is at the mercy of the government. Denmark has a free market system. It doesn't have the government doing collective bargaining. So Denmark is an example of how no min. wage does well.

I gave you a source. According to BLS the median weekly earnings is around $814 week. Gallup has people working around 47 hours a week. That is the highest value I know. So $814/47 hours a week is around $17/hr. So, on the median, over half of the nation earns $17/hr or more. But hey, you don't care about facts. "Taking household size into account, they would still be poor." No it doesn't. When I was earning the min. wage my dad was earning $60,000 a year. Two examples is not enough.
