  4. Defense spending has been dropping for decades. Social welfare programs have been increasing for years. So to compare the two is flawed. And just raising taxes does not mean increase in revenue. So it is far from reasonable.

  5.  @marlonbryanmunoznunez3179  , compare it to percent of GDP. In the 60s defense spending was around 10% of GDP, now it is around 4%. Social welfare programs have increased in percent of GDP. You say "citation needed" shows you have no desire to actually do research. But hey, continue being ignorant on important issues if if makes you happy.

  8.  jfsfrnd  , there are other sources of funding for them at the local level. It isn't like they are going to be completely cut off. Also, maybe this should be a sign that we should not let the federal government manage these programs.

  9.  jfsfrnd  , it depends on the local area. It can be local clinics, charities, food drives, etc. In my city we have local health clinics that are essentially free for low income individuals.
