Kyle really needs to stop talking about healthcare, he clearly knows very little about it.

The economy is doing great.
2
fowlerfreak, in terms of percentage the DOW is doing fine.

Angel, wages are up, unemployment is down, worker participation is stagnate where for years it was dropping, and initial claims are down. Several indicators are that the economy is booming. What caused the Great Depression were low interest rates by the Fed. The Fed is looking to raise interest rates for a third time this year which is a lot. Saying half of the workers earn $30,000 or less is very deceptive. What is their household income? What is their cost of living? What benefits they receive? You have to provide more information and not just throw numbers out there. 83% of the benefits went to the top because they pay the most taxes.

Just because healthcare is the number 1 issue does not mean people want more government involved in healthcare. In reality it could be that people want less government involved in healthcare.

There are several arguments against Medicare for all.
2
Lee Thach, wages have arguably not been stagnate. There are several indications that wages have been going up.
1
Tony, saying Medicare for all is objectively better can be something one can easily argue against.

veel60, there are plenty of arguments. One simple one is the bureaucracy of any government system. For example it took Medicare 40 years to add a prescription drug benefit where insurance did it a long time ago. The federal government is not efficient on handling these programs most of the time. Look at the Community Mental Health Act of 1963. They only opened half of the facilities they wanted to and none of them were funded fully. Read Katherine Baicker's points on our healthcare system. She gave a talk back on March 24, 2009 and you can find it online. She gave the talk while she was a professor at Harvard in Health Economics.
1
Herb, that 97% figure is deceptive as Medicare can pass the cost onto other agencies. Also, you did not address other things I said.

@zidneya , I don't want to force him to be silence, there is the difference.
1
Zidneya, I do want him to shut up on his own free will. But I will never force him to shut up. I am simply suggesting he stop talking about healthcare as him spreading ignorance is not wise. But I will never force him to be quiet as I support freedom of speech. .
1
Zidneya, you clearly have no idea what freedom of speech is. I support him having the ability to speak. I just wish he wouldn't. I, in no way support anyone using force to silence him. I want him to do it on his own accord. And you are calling me stupid?
1
Zidneya, by your standard Kyle does not support freedom of speech as well. He has said many times he refuses to debate people because doing so gives them a platform and thus a voice.
1
Run on single payer and you will lose big time. People don't want that drastic of a change in our healthcare system.
1
S.S .A, prepare to hear the lame excuse of how they were outspent. Doesn't matter that despite massive support and money spent on Beto he still lost to Cruz.
1
David, those polls are unreliable. They are vague questions on complex issues to people who don't fully understand them. Opinions change when more information is given. If you were to ask the same people if they support higher taxes I bet most will say no.
1
David, it isn't "fake news", polls are unreliable as these issues are complex. You are asking a group of non-experts a vague question related to a complex issue. Let me say I were to ask if someone supports Medicare for all but then list all the shortcomings of Medicare, such as how it took 40 years to cover prescription benefits where private insurance covered it way before Medicare did. How many will support it then? When more information is given opinions change.
1
David, so you are saying politicians in charge refuse to improve Medicare? Why do you want the government running your healthcare again?
1
veel60, the US does many things well and one can argue that most of our shortcomings come from government. I agree, our healthcare system is not managed well, most of it is due to the government.
