@MrGrass97 , what immigration system is 100% effective? None so far. The point is that the wall is supposed slow down illegal immigration over the border so we can use our limited resources, such as man power, to solve the immigration issue of people over staying their visa. So yes, the wall will do a lot to help. At this point people oppose it because they support open borders.

proud American , true. It is the same as the drugs coming in from legal ports of entry. The reason why that is the case is because those are the drugs that are caught. We really don't know how many cross the border through other parts of the border as we have no numbers on it. Same with illegals crossing the border. If we don't catch them we don't have record on them thus we don't know how many are here illegally.

@40roam , It also helps that Denmark also borders other developed nations. Also, their strong safety nets are from taxing their citizens high, not just the rich. Denmark has more of a flat tax when you compare it to the US.

@AnonYMouse-ky4sg , a few minutes is a lot of time in reality for drones, cameras and personal to react. Same in how a wall and door around your home slows down criminals from entering giving you time to react if needed if you are home. Or how a fence around a prison gives guards time to react.

@anticorncob6 , the reality is that you are so far left you are completely missing my point. I don't hear any good arguments against the wall. So at that point the only answer can be is that those who oppose the wall are for open borders. Why shouldn't we build a wall? Tell me.

@MrGrass97 , but Trump isn't proposing that. He is proposing building a wall on part of the border, but even people oppose that. So again, why do you oppose the wall?

@markreadin7124 , the border wall makes great sense as it allows us to allocate our limited resources, man power in this case, to other areas to enforce more immigration laws. Walls have worked well in other parts of the border. As for the claim that most drugs come through legal ports of entry you can't say that as you cannot obtain accurate numbers there. You are only looking at the drugs that get caught. Of course you are more likely to get caught going though a legal port of entry. And as for overstaying visas, a wall will help us allocate man power in getting those people. A wall makes great sense. People just oppose it because they are for open borders.

@tonystark4292 , a wall will do a lot. It allow for the allocation of resources to take on other illegal immigrants who overstay their visa. Also, no one is saying that a wall will stop all illegal immigrants, it will lower it. But based on your standard since no law is stopping illegal immigration we might as well allow open borders. That is why people say the left support open borders.
