This was not a law but a guideline. That is why she was not convicted. She was jailed because the judge is a power hungry prick.
14
You can't do that. Consider how 66% in NY who got the virus were at home.
9
@donHooligan huh? It is the left that was cheering this on. The democrat governor an Lt. Governor opposed to this. People who are pushing this type of authoritarian are those on the left like the IL governor, the Mayor of NYC and Chicago, etc.
7
How? She is not forcing others to go to her salon.
6
@Bobert No her job is essential as her, and her workers, need it to earn money. I guess we can have an communist like nation decide what jobs are necessary and what jobs aren't. Is that what you want? And how is her salon spreading more death? A lot suggest that virus is not that deadly. You know what spreads more deaths? Having infected people go back to nursing homes.

No Kyle. A UBI does not matter if there is no productivity. We have a meat shortage right now because people are not working. I just ordered a mask and it was difficult to find one that I can receive soon because productivity is down. This is where leftists do not understand economics. You cannot print food and goods. They have to be produced. If you shut down the economy, create a rent and mortgage freeze, and a UBI you will completely destroy the economy. Land lords will go bankrupt and banks will take over the property. Banks will lose money and will require more from the Fed causing massive inflation. Just creating easy monetary policy with no productivity will create massive inflation.
4
They were from smaller towns and were not as vocal. This woman started out by ripping the cease and dissent order in public right away drawing attention to herself. So marketing does matter.
3
Kyle somehow thinks magically appear out of nowhere.
3
This is not the law but a guideline. Also, she was no convicted because she did not break a law.
2
Exactly. Right now we have a meat shortage. When will we have a food storage? We are not producing.
2
@hismajestyofhimboism1460 no, it is left wing. This is a left winger dream. Shut down the private sector and make people depend on the government. The left, as in NY, has some of the most restrictive rules and some of the worst results. Same as in MI.
2
@donHooligan no, it comes from the left. Republicans were pushing to get her out of jail.
2
@donHooligan remember, the Mayor of NYC can go to the gym, you can't. NY is banning organized events. The mayor of Chicago can see her hair stylist but she is going to spy on you if you plan to meet up with your friends.
2
@lanabanana8265 she did not break the law, that is why the power hungry judge demanded she apologize. Apologize for what? Wanting to earn a living? It is easy for a judge to sit there and demand that, he has a guaranteed income. She stood her ground as that judge was being oppressive. He was saying "bow down to me or go to jail". Compare it to this, how is that any different than Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat? Where a white person is saying "give in to me or go to jail". You are falling in line that every law and ruling by the government should be follow without question. Consider how we had Jim Crow laws and slavery was legal and people fought against them and won. I really see this as no different .
2
@hismajestyofhimboism1460 no they don't. They want to tear apart the private sector and create jobs they feel are necessary. Have you read the GND? That is what it does. Pushes to create jobs they feel are necessary and kill other sectors they disagree with. They want a centralized, planned economy.
2
@lanabanana8265 it was a guideline, not a law. It is her private property so there is no reason to give a cease and dissent order. Only her can demand one one someone. She fought an oppressive system and, thankfully, won. No different than when Rosa Parks decided to go to jail as opposed to giving in to a white person's order, or Jim Crow laws orders. She refused to bow down to the judge and give in.
2
@AbstractTraitorHero how is capitalism the problem? What we are seeing right now is in line with communism. Destroy the private sector, decide which jobs are essentially, have millions depend on the government, and elitists in politics and media be great. This is the exact opposite of capitalism.
2
@letstalknews3232 people do not have to go to her salon. If they do that is on them. Also, many are doing hair appointments at home which is less clean than a salon. When the economy become weak the underground economy expands making things worse. Compare it to prohibition. They made alcohol illegal and thus the mob was create.
2
It would be worse. It will cause inflation. Eventually we need to produce.
2
@waitaminute2015 doing it at home is less safe. A barbershop in Vacaville opened up with that argument where many barbers were doing underground work at home. In the barbershop it is more clean.
1
@BK201DarkerThanBlack Refusing to apologize in a simple disagreement, especially she did so professionally, is not grounds of contempt of court.
1
@kpeteho6ot she endangered no one. She is not forcing people to come there.
1
@Black_Caucus she doesn't. The TX SC let her go. She is running her business again and is free.
1
@Black_Caucus they don't. CA has the highest poverty rate.
1
Kyle's fans are communist. They have no problem relying on government while power hungry elitist in politics and media do well.
1
The welfare system is so overloaded that many are not receiving it. And kids have a very low chance of dying so they are fine.
1
Also, we need to work. We have a meat shortage right now because people are not producing. You cannot print food.
1
@megg.6651 I hoping if some good comes out of this virus is that hopefully many will see how power hungry and elitist many on the left are. I am not saying all as I feel there are many great democrats like Hickenlooper and Tulsi, but there are many who are elitist in politicians and the media. With Chris Cuomo calling people fools after he violated his own quarantine, or the Mayor of NYC demanding people stay home and banning gatherings while he goes to the gym and parks in Brooklyn, or Gov. Cuomo using this virus to place attention on himself, or Gov. of IL placing a travel ban and dodging the question of his wife going to FL and so on. As some point when do people stand up and vote for someone else? And I am not saying vote republican, but at least a different democrat. When do they vote for someone besides Pelosi? Or in IL they vote for different democrats besides the ones they have now? Hopefully this pandemic changes the democrat party for the better because of the past decade they have been insane.
1
@thepolishlatinofromphilly9709 they are. You guys are a part of the left, power hungry and elitist. Remember, Bernie did not lose, he has three homes now and is a millionaire. Same with AOC, she is very well off.
1
@Creslin321 that is a very oppressive route to take. This lock down order is harming the nation's economy. When that happens you have the underground economy. Many hair stylists and barbers are doing work in their own home which is less safe. Consider prohibition, it created the underground market in alcohol. So your route is only going to make things worse. The underground market will expand and good luck regulating that.
1
@Creslin321 they are also not intentionally endangering others. All throughout life you do actions that potentially place others in danger. For example, you live in an apartment and you cook on a stove top you create the risk of a fire. That happened in my home town. Someone turned on the oven and accidentally fell asleep. A fire started and people died. You feel this virus is the only threat in life? How do you explain the other deaths that happened in life prior to it?
1
@AbstractM0use no one is sitting on a cash pile.
1
@welshgit it isn't if the money is there or not. We can be like Zimbabwe and make trillion dollar bills. But what does that buy? Right now you can give someone millions of dollars and they will not be able to buy a hamburger at Wendys because of the current meat shortage. When there is no productivity more money will not matter. That is the issue we are having is that productivity is low.
1
@AbstractM0use what? Most of their wealth is tied into their stocks which is not liquidated. You really need to learn about the economy more.
1
@dmoneyonair rent freeze hurting landlords is a strong argument. They need to earn money as well. Also, they need to pay bills and loans. A lot of time they have a loan on their property. If they don't pay banks take over the rentals.
1
@AbstractM0use I do not see a figure of speech. Most "millionaires" do not have a million dollars on hand.
1
@AbstractM0use so what's your point?
1
@dmoneyonair huh? The idea is that they earn a profit off of the rent. If you can't afford your house you lose it. These people buy property and rent it out so they can afford it. That is the point of being a land lord.
1
Her kids are young and have a very high chance of survivor.
1
@AbstractTraitorHero yes they are.
1
@mitchellspears4626 they won't and will have to fire bankruptcy allowing banks to take over. It becomes a slippery slope.
1
Nothing. This happens a lot. A judge makes a decision and a higher court overrules it. He is up for re-election but Dallas is very blue.
1
And they are. In my state we are opening up a week early as people are threaten to press charges.
1
@ChrisPage68 Ok, have fun having banks run the rentals because we all know they will do the right thing.
1
Very few are calling this a hoax. They are saying we need to take a moderate approach. Even without orders she is limiting how many can enter her business and she is wearing a mask.
1
@natashanyxx9486 she does not have employees. She has independent contractors. There is a difference.
1
@ilikethatboulder.thatisani5496 they are independent contractors so technically they were never fired. Independent contractors do not work for the company but instead work at the company. May sound confusing but basically they pay a fee to be allowed to be allowed to use space at that company and then are paid directly by the customer. Another comparison is being a high school sports official. I am one. I pay a fee to my local association. They assign me games and the school pays me. Now they do so by paying the association where the association gives me the money later, but really the school pays me. I pay a fee to the association so I can work "at" the association, or basically the schools. I receive a 1099 for taxes and similar to a business I can have write offs. For example, mileage I drive, expenses such as shoes and gear, etc. There lies the difference. Independent contractors are not fired but simply not allowed to do work at that place anymore.
1
@SapientGalaxy true. That is because the ever efficient government has such an archaic code in their computer and it is causing messes.
1
@natashanyxx9486 no one is open
1
@letstalknews3232 no I did not. All throughout life you place others in danger unless you live on a farm. When you drive you place others in danger. If you live in an apartment complex and cook you place others in danger. Consider this story, in my hometown someone turned on the stove and accidentally fell asleep. It started a fire and people were killed and harmed in the apartment complex. So it is possible. This whole idea of "endangering others" is flawed as it is not a novel situation. It happens all the time. At this point we have to consider what is worse, the bad economy or the virus? As for government not providing, the government cannot magically create things. We need people to produce. We have a meat shortage right now. When will we eventually have a food shortage all together? People have to get back to work.
1
@StormMcBeth I did. You cannot consume what you don't produce. We right now have a meat shortage. So more money is not going to magically create more meat. When there is no productivity more money does not matter. That is the problem we are running into is lack of productivity. Add in easy monetary policy like a UBI and you will have inflation making things worse. Eventually, people have to go back to work.
1
@riddlerx994 laugh all you want, you nation is facing problems as well.
