This is charity. So is Kyle against charity? How did France handle the Nice attack? Also, this is a tragedy. They are hard to plan for. No hospital in the world can take on 500+ patients at once.

cace26, with how inefficient government is with money I rather give it to charity.

Buying a gun is a privilege as well. All that right means is that the government can't prevent you from owning and buying one. But it does not give you one. You also have the right to pursue healthcare.

skywise8, these victims won't pay much, if at all. Charities will reign in this one and hospitals and doctors will give up their time in cases like this.

Syrup Forever, Kyle is jumping the gun and is using a tragedy to push his propaganda.

"France has universal healthcare dummy." I know, but how did they handle their attack? How much did it cost? How were people treated?
1
"Name ONE time that that ever happened. " Many times. A community effort takes place. "It is a well-known and well-documented fact that people end up having to pay thousands of dollars just to get medical treatment in America." In a normal situation sure. But not here. Plenty of money will be raised.

Gee, I mean, it will be great if the government could just snap their fingers and everyone can be cured for free. Leftists are not too bright.
1
" Can you prove that it happened "many times"? If not, then you're clearly talking out of your ass." Like I asked before, what happened in France after their attack? In Joplin, MO after the tornado the community worked together to build up. This is not going to be smooth. Nothing will make it smooth. But the reality is that the US is a giving society and charities will be sufficient.
1
"That's funny that you say that because NO ONE is expecting the government to just "snap their fingers" and cure everyone." It seems like it. How is charity any different than government taxing people? To me people know where the money is going in a charity. And this is a tragic event, a one time charity is all we need. Not years of taxation. " Please explain why we need billions of dollars added to our military when it could easily be spent on healthcare reform here." Defense spending is 3% of GDP, healthcare is 1/6 of GDP. How do you plan to use that money to pay for it?
1
"they just agreed to 700 Billion, that is 3% of the entire budget?" I said GDP. Also, the federal government spends around $1 trillion a year in healthcare. For decades the trend has been defense spending has been dropping and federal government spending has been increasing. You are getting what you want, less defense spending and more healthcare spending. Look at the result.
1
"the budget passed for 2016-2017 was 4.147 Trillion and the military was 582.7 Billion. That is not 3%" Again, GDP. I am comparing the defense budget to the entire GDP. Our GDP is around 16.7 trillion dollars.
1
"The U.S is not a giving society. " It is. Our culture is different in that we have private charities as opposed to government force. " A country run by greedy billionaires," Billionaires do not control my life.
1
Joshua, so you don't think politicians are greedy? "Billionaires don't control your life, but the people who write the laws that control your life are loyal to those billionaires. " Yeah, politicians, not charities. So I guess we are screwed all around.
1
"so you admit that billionaires should be paying out larger sums of money and not get breaks so that way they can help out all sorts of people then?" Nope.
1
Joshua, I have the option to pay into a charity. I don't when it comes to the federal government and all except for a few congress members I can't even vote for.
