There is a point there. So do they guarantee healthcare to all or not?
1
@clintholmes2061 not a counter argument. How about you answer the question.
1
@clintholmes2061 so you agree that universal healthcare does not guarantee care?
1
AOC is wrong on healthcare. To start, you cannot guarantee healthcare to all as resources are limited. Next, she earned a degree in economics. She was in a position to get a better job but decided not to get a job better than a waitress. Also, under M4A our wages will still fund it and it has us depending on the government as opposed to the employer. You are just passing the buck to someone else. Remember, this is the same government that is corrupt that wanted, according to her, wanted a bailout of corporations.

@sebsignat8286 many are not participating in spying, and those that do have a double standard. In St. Louis those who snitched got called out. And when they did the snitches cried as if it is OK for them to snitch but not others to return the favor.

Healthcare is tied to the employer because of the payroll tax. The payroll tax created by the federal government. Because of that healthcare benefits are a tax free way to pay employees. This guy has put zero thought into this issue. But let us go through the "arguments" 1. Access through choice: Under a free market system, which we don't have because of the payroll tax, you do have higher access at lower costs due to competition. Under a single payer system where is the incentive for healthcare providers to lower prices or offer more care? There is none. And 30 million are unemployed because the government shut down the economy and many on the left refuse to open it back up. Most do agree healthcare should not be tied to the employer but the federal government policy of the payroll tax created that problem. As for wealthy being on the same plan, that is not true. The wealthy well be able to pay for extra care as they can afford to pay double where the middle class cannot. You see that with private schools vs public schools where typically the rich can afford the taxes and tuition of private schools and the middle class is stuck with public schools. 2. It is about taking insurance away from people. No, it does not guarantee coverage. In Canada they were sued because they originally banned private care and it led to inefficiency. M4A will cover less as it pays 40% less as is. That is very basic economics. And no, the vast majority do not pay less as it will be subsidized by the young who are healthy to begin with. 3. Yes, they will via higher taxes all around. The payroll tax will go up leading to lower wages all around. And no, Canada do not have guaranteed healthcare. That is why people die in Canada die waiting for "elective" heart surgery. 4. Now this guy is contradicting himself. So now resources are limited? So now healthcare is not guaranteed? Fact is those nations are ranked high in healthcare system by the WHO but have some of the worse results in this pandemic. In terms of deaths per million Italy and Spain did do worse. And no, we are not seeing increases in cases. The US is doing very well

@clintholmes2061 so no counter argument?
1
@clintholmes2061 I do care. However, I gave counter arguments to what this guy said. For example he said that coronavirus cases are going up in the US which is simply not true. Now it is true that in many of those European nations have see a sharper decline, but consider two points. One, they have a higher death rate than us and two, they probably got close to herd immunity where here in the US we have not. That is because those nations were hit first and did not know much. But there are numbers in some of our states suggest that is happening as well.

There is a chance. With how democrats are acting now many will vote against their communist ideas.

Rather be bankrupt than dead.

AOC is pathetic. She wanted to give money to illegal immigrants. She also pushed to give raises to members of congress on the excuse that it will alleviate "corruption". Must be great to be a person who can decide if they can get a raise off of the taxpayers' dime. With AOC and her kind it isn't about helping people but about control. People are starting to rise up and realize that. The far left is not even being sneaky anymore. They are full on communist.

@blackflagsnroses6013 big businesses have no power. For as bad as Walmart is I have never seen them hold a gun to someone's head and force them to do things. Remember, it is government that decided that big businesses like Walmart and Amazon are "essentially" while small ones suffer. People are realizing that overpowering government is not the answer. That is why people are fighting against these shut down orders. A gym in NJ just opened up and the cops showed up and told them to have a good time. The far left is losing.
