The bill was full crap. Giving money to failing blue states, money to illegal immigrants, free phone calls for inmates where others like me have to pay a cell phone bill. What does that have to do with the virus? Democrats were pushing things that had nothing to do with covid.

Cases are starting to drop along with deaths.

@MrTyler918273 true.

@TheCaptainSplatter cases are dropping nation wide. At this point we really have to be discussing on if what we are doing is worse. Suicides are up, substance abuse is up, antidepressant use is up to the point one was placed on the FDA's shortage list, something that never happens. Kids will no be getting a proper education. And all for what? A virus where deaths are low, the recovery rate continues to climb, cases and deaths are dropping?

@user-ct8my8rv9c deceptive. If you go by per person blue states take in more money.

@esquire9445 he has some power. He can stop student loan payments as the Department of Education dictates that. And he can argue to stop evictions. As for unemployment benefits, there it gets tricky. But it does make Trump look good. If we go with it people get money that Congress could never give. If congress comes to an agreement Trump would look good as he forced congress to work. If democrats take it to court it will be held up in court for weeks as there are arguments to be made. One is that Congress controls the purse, but the other is that executive orders can be used in time of war and state of emergencies. Trump's team can argue the latter in that they gave Congress time to work things out but didn't and thus he had to act. Either, on the last part, payments will be stopped and democrats will be to blame. And with it being tied up in court for weeks people will blame democrats on this one and blame them voting for Trump.
