  2. Bernie is deceptive when he talks about military spending. Saying we spend more than the next 12 countries (I also heard 7 and 8) is deceptive in that our overall GDP is comparable to those countries combine GDP. Compare it to this, a 300 pound guy can weigh more than 10 people combine, if they are all a bunch of toddlers weighing less than 30 pounds. Bernie citing polls is not how we should govern our nation.

  5. Eric Brown, healthcare is a commodity. Someone has to provide it and that person needs to be compensated. If you don't have the money then people will not provide healthcare.

  7. I heard reports of 7 and 8, and now 12? What is the accurate number? Also, if you went with the 8 value and combined the GDP of those nations and compared the spending the US spends only 1% more in GDP on defense. Our GDP is comparable to those countries' GDP combine. It only makes sense we spend more on defense then them. I bet we spend more on education as well than them combined.

  10. Robert Jesson, great point. I hate the arguments of "other countries do it". Other countries are different and have different cultures. You cannot compare. Australia is an island, why compare it to the US?

  11. Socialism fails on the large scale because future generations become entitled and lazy. Why work when the government can just provide everything for you?
