+peter poulsen Yeah, not try doing it with 300 million people. You have to change the culture of 300 million people.

+Nathan smith Radical changes means radical actions. The last time this country made such radical changes was in the mid 1800s which was during the civil war. Do you really want to divide a country like that and create an environment where people will die? I am not saying a war will start, but radical actions will take place. That is simply because you are trying to change how over 300 million people act and think.

You are comparing two completely different societies and cultures which can't be done. Bernie is taking complex issues and saying that 1. they are countries 2. people live there It is easily arguable that the US does better than all of those countries, especially when you consider the massive diversity and size we have compared to them. Every single one of those countries are different in some way, Denmark has mandatory military service, Norway subsidizes their economy with oil. Which model do you want to copy? In the very end the cultures in all the countries are too different to make a direct comparison making Bernie's argument very weak.

The US also has one race of people that disproportionately commit crime, but if you bring that up you are called a racist. And that is not to say that black people naturally are criminals, their race has not put forth the effort to break the stereotype or improve their situation. If those other countries had to deal with that then the story will be different.

+tangerinestorm How does my argument not hold true?

+Nathan smith Desegregation was a constitutional ruling based off of the 14th amendment. The problem that has been created with that is forced integration which is the other radical approah. The New Deal (in the 30s) created a depression and many of the problems we have now. It was the war that ended the depression.

+augustin1999 How many employees do they have, how many mcdonalds they have. Serving size, hours open. How productive their workers are. I went to a McDonalds months ago (I really don't go anymore) and they messed up my order. That is just with McDonalds. If you start looking at the entire economy it becomes more complex.
