@STMARTIN009 two things. One, deaths of covid are overstated to begin with. Also, how many have died due to a weaker immune system as the lockdowns led to higher depression, substance abuse and gyms being closed so people's immune system became weaker? Next, TX has been completely open for a month now and cases continue to drop. Explain that.

@STMARTIN009 again, TX has been completely open for a month now and average daily cases have dropped over 50%. And deaths are overstated. The CDC said that those who died with covid that 94% of them had underlying conditions. The average age of death if in the 80s. Basically, someone with a heart condition, bad kidneys and is in their 80s that dies with covid is listed as a "covid death" when really it was old age.

Covid is no big deal. There are millions of dangers in life. I know of a 5 year old girl who died in a car accident, should I push to ban driving? Based on your standard the answer is yes. Normal will come back when we stop acting like idiots.

@STMARTIN009 again, TX has been open 100% for a month now and cases dropped. After the Super Bowl there were large crowds but cases did not go up. Also, one can argue that these covid protocols, such as not allowing large crowds of people enjoying themselves, leads to depression and substance abuse and thus a weaker immune system to where they become infected and actually sick. Ever considered that?

@STMARTIN009 which is the problem. When people like you bring up the "pandemic" you only talk about the virus. You do not talk about increases in depression, suicides, substance abuses, etc. You do not talk about businesses shutting down. You do not talk about the financial, economic and psychological damage done that is arguably far greater than what the virus would have done. People like you ignore all of that. I, personally, saw my drinking go up a lot to where I had to be hospitalized, twice. Not for covid but for detox and high blood pressure as the lock downs stripped a lot from my life. But people like you would not care, all you care about is the virus, nothing else. That is a problem.

@STMARTIN009 one, masks are more or less a mark of shame. It is similar to a scarlet letter. Next, if masks is all it took, then we should have all schools open, we should have ballparks at 100% capacity, we should have concerts going, churches at 100%, etc.

@Hellowdhdbdbd we don't shut down McDonalds or ban unhealthy food because of heart disease that also leads to someone going to a hospital. That is the point.

@jetswhiteout961 the issue is that these "health orders" have gone too far to where the financial, economical and psychological damage has caused way more damage than this virus would have. The average age of death is in the 80s. 94% of people who died had underlying conditions. Basically people who die with this virus were at high risk of death to begin with. Consider this, 40% of deaths were in nursing homes. According to a UCSF article published prior to covid, 50% of new nursing home patients die within 6 months. The life expectancy of those in a nursing home is 1 year. Here we are 13 months later. Basically those 40% who have died chances are the vast majority of them would be dead anyway during these past 13 months. Meanwhile, many young people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are going to face long term issues financially, economically and psychologically. As for masks, TX lifted their mask mandate a month ago and their cases dropped by over 50%. And if all it took were masks, then we should have full stadiums, all schools being open, etc.
