+Rick Haks Wealth is developed, it does not have to come from income. I can take trash off the streets and turn it into art and if someone is willing to pay well for it then that is wealth creation. One can also work in keeping their homes clean and organized for example, or driving their car so it last longer and thus you have more wealth. It does not have to come from income.

@Budvb No, with capitalism there is competition and as a result businesses end up paying higher wages so they can keep the better workers. They give out benefits so they can keep they happy and healthy. Big businessess pay more than minimum wage to start out at and then give out raises to workers that deserve it.

Here is why universal HC won't work in the US. Comparing Canada to the US. Knowing people who experience both here is what they said. In Canada you go in, get care, and leave. In the US we go in and we ask what is being done to us. How can we get better. What are they giving to us. How much will it cost. They love the US system for that reason simply because it promotes our society to take responsibility for our own care.

The problem with you argument overall is that you are comparing the US to other countries. You are comparing different societies. Just because one system works in one country doesn't mean it will work in another. The US health care system is great for its citizens. It is expensive and the cost needs to be fixed but a universal health care system will never work in the US and if it were ever created it will destroy this country because our society wouldn't work with it.

We are a very aggressive society that makes things happen and should always promote that because he makes us very productive. If we get universal HC we start to lose that mentality and us as a society starts to fall apart. They is why it won't work in the US. Most people with anything that resembles an IQ can see that Moore and this lady is an idiot. As far as West, if you look past is calm persona and the big words he uses you see that he doesn't really know what he is talking about as well. The want Obama to do something but the fact that he is doing something is causing the problem, same with FDR's actions, he prolong the recession until the war took us out of it. I remember Obama as teh man who hurt the US, small businesses, housing, etc.

@JJ him calling Republicans the most dangerous party ever is inaccurate. Disagree with republicans all you want, there are far more dangerous organizations in other governments out there. Bill Maher talked about that this year in that he can make fun on the president and not have to worry about being killed like in other nations.

@JJ uh, the republican party does a lot of good in the US. And compared to the other party, the democrats right now, they are the better of the two. The democrats are politicizing everything and are dividing our nation. The fact that Chomsky cannot see that shows he has no clue what he is talking about. Also, he brings up anti science when if any group in the US are anti science it is the democrats. Why? Look at their approach over covid. Nothing is data driven. NY has one of the highest vaccination rates in the US and NYC has vaccine passports. They are seeing record case numbers now. What do the mayors of Boston and Chicago do now? They create their own vaccine passport mandates even though nothing show that they work. Chomsky talks about pulling out of the Paris Agreement under Trump when that agreement was worthless. There was nothing to enforce on it. It was all theatrics. And on the issue of climate change, why is it that so many on the left cannot get actual scientists to speak on their behalf? Meanwhile, you have people like Myles Allen and Mike Hulme warning against the fear mongering of climate change. Fact is that Chomsky if lost when it comes to reality. He is a prime example of what happens when you become an expert in one field and then make up reality due to lack of experience when it comes outside of his field.

@JJ he talks about wealth when he clearly has no idea what wealth is. To start, just because someone is rich does not make you poor. Next, a lot of wealth is hard to measure and is non liquidated. For example, on paper I have negative wealth due to student loans. A homeless guy on the street with no debt and a few dollars actually has more wealth than I do. Now who lives a better life? That homeless guy or me with a PhD, my own apartment, three meals a day, my own car, etc.? There are several examples I can give of Chomksy being completely clueless. He brings up the "climate crisis" when he is not even a scientist. Heck, maybe he should read the book "Why We Disagree About Climate Change" to learn more about it. Doubt he will.
