  1. 32bit software limits the allocated memory size to 2/3/3.5/4 Gb (depending on stuff). GenĪ± devs can't live with such harsh limitation.

  2. Honestly, 32bit is in fact a legacy thing. But it is a legacy thing. Tons and tons of legacy software that's been here for decades and must keep running for decades more. You can't just drop it for not being fancy enough. If you consider your distro as a working thing and not some genĪ± toy, you must support 32bit as long as possible.
