@Roy_Osovsky It isn't an isolated event. Many Palestinian civilians were killed by the IDF while attempting to evacuate from the North to the South on the corridor road that was supposed to be safe. And while carrying white flags.

@SevINSevIN-be5yo They had ceased firing when the hostages appeared. They panicked and shot them even though they were carrying white flags. So no, they were not caught in a crossfire at that moment.

@Fr33zeBurn The Hannibal Directive appears to apply to all hostage situations. The helicopter pilot from the music festival admitted that the Hannibal Directive was employed en masse because they couldn't tell the civilians from Hamas.

@Sarah40. I think that shooting at someone carrying a white flag is the ultimate cowardice. In War the white flag is always the signal of surrender and there are rules. Never ever are they supposed to fire at someone carrying the white flag or surrendering. It is a War Crime. But let's deflect away from the blatant incompetence and cowardice of the IDF in shooting their own hostages shall we?

@אורז-צ5ט Rubbish. The eyewitnesses saw the IDF snipers. Loads of witnesses. By the way Hamas does not use Human Shields. That is according to investigation carried out by Amnesty International. It is pure Israeli Propaganda.

Wrong. Why would Hamas provide them with White Flags and tell them to strip from the waist up so that the IDF would see they were unarmed? It seems that Hamas was actually releasing them.

@janiemolloy2404 I expect that Hamas released them. Clearly they had been instructed to take their shirts off and go naked from the waist up so the IDF would see that they were not armed with suicide vests or anything else. That advice would have been given to them by Hamas. Then of course they had been provided with White Flags.
