  6.  @scottmac-cheeserae4531  The US strategy of the last 20 years was to set up a government from scratch, deliberately install weak leaders by holding token elections, and then changing those leaders frequently so that they could not develop an independent support base of their own. This strategy calls for continuous support in terms of muscle and money. The moment you plug the support, the house of cards collapses. That is what happened. Even the Soviets proved smarter than the US in this game.

  11. This disaster would not have happened if the US would have ensured the continuity of financial support to the Afghanistan government and had provided military support by keeping small number of US troops deployed inside Afghanistan. Nobody will trust the US anymore.
