@remus097 Russia views NATO's expansion to it's bordering countries as a threat to it's sovereignty. Why is NATO provoking Russia?

@surajkhuntia5546 NATO created the Afghanistan problem. Under Russian occupation Afghanistan was actually developing as a secular liberal non-islamic society.

@remus097 What is the need of NATO expansion to former soviet republics bordering Russia then?

@khiem1939 Russia was cornered in it's own home by US and NATO and was forced to come out. Hope the US and NATO are learning this lesson.
5
@khiem1939 Donald Trump knew that Russia was a potential ally and not an enemy. NATO and US bureaucracy prevented him from building bridges to Russia just because of their vested interests. Hope they will learn a lesson from this.

@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 NATO expansion in Europe is bleeding the US and causing its decline as a superpower. The US is so entangled in Europe that it is unable to focus on the existential threat posed to it by China. NATO expansion in Europe after 1991 may have benefitted European nations but not the US.
4
@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 If what you say is true then it can safely be said that European nations preferred to accept the American Empire over the Russian Empire.
3
@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 I think Donald Trump was right when he said that European nations have a vested interest in NATO expansion because it allows them to leave the job of defending their nations to the US and leaves them free to spend their government money on social welfare and economy.
3
@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 In that case I think that this time Biden is President so he has come to Europe's aid but future US Presidents will not be inclined to contribute to Europe's security because of China and other new challenges. Europe will have to devise a new security alliance of it's own.

@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 English please

@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 Brother for some strange reason the translate option is not showing right now.

NATO will never come to Finland's aid if Russia does attack them though it is highly unlikely that Russia will open a second front now.
2
@giuseppealagnadimozia3086 Perhaps NATO has expanded because European nations wanted the US to pay for their security? Perhaps Russia was deliberately made a villain lure the US to stay in Europe after the end of the Cold War so that European nations don't have to take care of their military security?

@rogerhall6021 When did NATO ever go to full war with any nuclear armed nation?
1
@rogerhall6021 NATO can fight war only with a weak nation.
1
@rogerhall6021 You are underestimating Russia and overestimating NATO
1
@rogerhall6021 It was always supposed to be an operation to punish Ukraine for bringing NATO on Russia's borders.
1
@rogerhall6021 Why do you NATO people want to expand to Russia's borders anyway? Is Russia expanding to your borders?
1
@rogerhall6021 Russia has always helped India and has been our best friend. If you change your attitude towards Russia they will be your friends too. You have made Russia your enemy not the other way round.
1
@rogerhall6021 You did facilitate disintegration of the USSR, installed corrupt and incompetent people as leaders of former soviet republics including Yeltsin in Russia, and continued to expand NATO even when your enemy USSR was gone. You are not as innocent as you claim to be.
1
@rogerhall6021 The Russians do not like NATO expansion in former soviet republics like Ukraine and see it as a threat to their sovereignty. You did nothing to assuage that feeling.
1
@rogerhall6021 The feeling in India is that Biden needed a war to unite the Western world and distract from his abysmal performance as POTUS so the US successfully provoked Putin into launching a war against Ukraine.
1
@WOFFWOFF Russia China and India are actually getting together to bypass the US Dollar as the world's reserve currency.
