They claim that there has been a "surge" of interest since the death of Queen Elizabeth, but even if that original figure is quadrupled, it would give a maximum of twenty thousand supporters. They really represent nobody but themselves, and the other grouplets - Socialist Workers Party; Revolutionary Workers Party; Communist Party of Great Britain - from which they draw support.

  13. The UK is a constitutional monarchy where the government of the day is elected by universal suffrage on a first past the post system. That much is democratic. It compares well with a system where a candidate can win the popular vote, and be denied power because of an Electoral College.
