@Xane_Dragon What most people have long forgotten, or never knew, is that Queen Victoria survived no fewer that eight assassination attempts. Not one of them phased her.

There were hundreds of people welcoming the King, and a handful of malcontents trying to make themselves heard. So yes. There was gratitude.

That might be a plus in Utah.

@goldeneagle4786 The Scotsman newspaper, on February 13th, reported that support for Indepence was now 44%, opposition 56%. Sorry to rain on your parade.

You say. The majority in the UK would disagree.

By primogeniture, on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her son became King, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Supreme Governour of the Church of England. That is how.

@goldeneagle4786 In 2015 Republic boasted a national membership of five thousand. They claim that there has been a "surge" of interest since the death of Queen Elizabeth, but even if that original figure is quadrupled, it would give a maximum of twenty thousand supporters. They really represent nobody but themselves, and the other grouplets - Socialist Workers Party; Revolutionary Workers Party; Communist Party of Great Britain - from which they draw support.

The UK is a constitutional monarchy where the government of the day is elected by universal suffrage on a first past the post system. That much is democratic. It compares well with a system where a candidate can win the popular vote, and be denied power because of an Electoral College.

The UK has been an industrial nation for well over a hundred years. There has not really been a peasantry in Britain since Tudor times.

Should that happen, then the current Prince of Wales would immediately become King William V, and Prince George of Wales might be granted the title of Prince of Wales. Prince George is still only nine years old, but King Charles was the same age when Queen Elizabeth created him the Prince of Wales.

Better aroyal figurehead who is loved than a divisive executive gangster like Number 45.

He will never be "coronated". That word does not apply. The coronation, when King Charles will be anointed and crowned, is on May 6th.

No. You have that wrong. The epitome is probably playing golf down at Mar al Liar.
