  1. Enoch Powell, as Minister of Health (1960-1963) actively encouraged recruitment of nurses from the Caribbean. This was to alleviate the staffing shortage within the NHS.

  2.  @chrisgibson5267  You recall wrongly. The nurses were travelling on British passports, from British colonies, where they had been taught to believe that they were all part of the great Imperial family. Just as in the Second World War, when the UK required personnel, te Caribbean provided it. This was not some kind of overseas aid / training scheme. If you think I'm wrong, do your own research.

  3. It has kept the NHS and the transport system running. It has improved the choice of food exponentially. It has introduced heritage languages which are a boon to the service sector. It provided a workforce when one was required. Without immigration the care sector would collapse. It has provided a number of personnel for the armed forces.

  8.  @tonylaverick7865  Before the Second World War both the welsh and Scottish Nationalists expressed sympathy for the Third Reich, suggesting that it was not in the interests of their respective countries to go to war with Germany. Mark Felton has a very enlightening YouTube clip on the "tartan Nazis". Remember, ass well, that during the Second World War the UK ws only too happy to accept help from those portions of the Third World which were part of the Empire.
