No, it was not, and for three reasons. Firstly, both Elizabeth and Edward were the children of King Henry VIII = NOT Henry VII - Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry's second wife, Anne Boleyn, and Edward of his third wife, Jane Seymour. Secondly, Elizabeth was female, and so she was crowned Queen of England, Ireland and France, not king. Thirdly, under the laws of royal inheritance that applied until 2013, male primogeniture allowed a younger brother to replace an older sister in the line of succession. Hence, when Edward VI died, the crown passed first to Queen Jane (lasted nine days) and then to his eldest sister Queen Mary - the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Only after Mary's death did Elizabeth come to the throne.
