If you are British, then he IS your king. There is not a damn thing you can do to change that, and you don't get a say. So put your silly little yellow sign away and get used to reality.

Brexit, dear Daniel, removed any obligation of he French to prevent refugees from leaving their territory. Be grateful that the Departement du Nord has not started buying them one-way tickets on cross Channel ferries.

One person in the UK who was struggling to survive is the single mother who came back from a two week holiday in Cyprus and then had to go straight to a food bank. Does you heart bleed for her? Mine does not.

@HybridNews638 He served in the navy during a time of peace. Do you expect the government to start a war so that the (then) heir to the throne can see some action?>
4
Yes, he is. Stop being silly.

Yet another person obsessed with the activities of a former TV personality, raiser of funds for charity and all round national treasure (until he wasn't). What is it about Savile that so fascinates you?
3
Would you have him tone deaf and fast asleep, like several members of the UKs current ruling party?

I do not think that President Macron speaks German.

It has been common for EU countries to fly the EU flag along with their own since at least the 1990s.,

@gerardmackay8909 That is actually something that I have long suspected. The shock value went out of that story several years ago, but there seems to be a perverse group of dedicated obsessives who want to keep it alive.

He does. His speech to the Bundestag was a triumph.

BestOfAudits So do you expect applause? Take your toys and go home. Nobody cares what you think. The king's place in history is already assured. He will be remembered long after you have been totally forgotten.

the king is 74. Most men his age are retired. Think on that.

@lw1zfog You are traducing a man who is quadrlingual,;who learned to fly fixed wing aircraft and helicopters; who successfully completed paratroop training; who commanded a Royal Navy minesweeper, and then used his service gratuity as the seed money for the UK's most successful charity devoted to helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Aged 73, he rode to this year's Trooping of the Colour in the full dress uniform of the Welsh Guards. Beat that, you armchair critic.

@lobbyskids2 A man who travels by air is very much in touch with the public. That is how a large section of the British public go on holiday. So far as your personal objection to the multi-faith element of the coronation is concerned (A) it was hardly intrusive (B) it reflects the society in which we live (C) if the Archbishop of Canterbury is prepared to go along with it, who needs your two cents' worth of input.

Do you suppose that if the king had not attended a banquet (Get the spelling correct) hosted and paid for by the French, that would have prevented the people (why the contraction?) of the UK from struggling to survive?
1
@danieljames2015 Actually, they can't. Brexit put the UK very much on the back foot.

@stocko5448 A labour, or any other, government will be hard pressed to match the ineptitude of the current lame-duck administration.
