You can hardly blame the king for the proposed legislation. This government has probably less than a year to run, and it ran out of ideas and competent ministers several years ago.

The monarch has not used the "power of vito (sic) - it is spelled "veto", since the reign of Queen Anne (died 1714). There would be a constitutional crisis if the king tried to use it now.
