He used his severance bonus from the Royal Navy to establish The Princes Trust, which is now the most successful charitable organisation in the United kingdom. The King also received a stipend called the Royal Grant, which is a percentage of the income from the Crown Estates, which are actually managed by the government of the day. this has been the practice since 1760, so any financial hardships currently ungone by British citizens are basically the fault of the current government - Brexit and Liz Truss.

Firstly, she was American, at a time when the British aristocracy looked down their noses at Americans - Churchill was widely distrusted for being a "half-breed American". Secondly, Wallis' penchant for expensive jewellery was regarded as vulgar. The desperately high casualty rate among the sons of the British establishment during WWI meant that flamboyant displays of wealth made one look like a war-profiteer. Thirdly, Wallis Simpson had gone through TWO divorces, and both her ex-husbands were still alive. A second point here is that the king is the "supreme governor" of the Church, not it "head". From the very foundation of the Church of England, King Henry VIII was very careful to ensure that nobody could accuse him of attempting to replace the pope. Neither infidelity, nor divorce, in any way preclude succession to the monarchy. Get your facts straight, and stop being so sanctimonious. Your moralizing is not indicative of a tender conscience, it is a manifestation of spiritual pride.

Only semi-literate obsessives like yourself, who insist on parading their own holiness in terms of the pick-and-mix theology that they espouse, are in any way concerned about minor details like the seating of Brigadier (retd.) Andrew Parker-Bowles. He attended the wedding of the Prince of Wales and the then Duchess of Cornwall 2005, and after his wife died in 2010, Princess Anne attended her funeral, and the Duchess of Cornwall later attended a memorial service in the guards chapel. The whole relationship has been marked with both tact and dignity, so please go and foam with indignation somewhere else.
