@introvertelectrician17 It's interesting that you bring up the Bible. I was just studying the Parable of the Talents. What a joke, giving the third guy only one talent and then criticizing him for guarding it! Imagine if we instituted UBI and we gave some of the people $1000/month and others only $200...and then we ostracized the $200 people because they didn't parlay their money and turn it into more. Terrible.

@FeelingShred I can only speak for myself. I don't have the ability to do more than one thing excellently at a given time. Hence, if I engage multiple professions, something is taking the back seat and BOTH of them are short-changed in some way. That doesn't feel right to me.

@FeelingShred I never said I'm excellent, only that excellence requires devotion (Maybe you think you can juggle two women and make them both happy?). There's an interesting book by Ayn Rand called The Fountainhead.

Don't you feel like you're wasting all the time you spend at work?

@introvertelectrician17 Ok, but there are many jobs that are simply unenjoyable. Or they get old quickly, like factory work. But that's not really the issue. People need to be honest about why they go to work. It's not to pay their bills. It's to get money so they can feel powerful for a little while. Almost nobody would work if all it did was cover their bills.

@LibermanConsultingLLC Sounds like a good strategy. I'm not really a capitalist, more of a Nikola Tesla type of character...or at least he's one of my heroes. Basically, you and I are cut from different cloths. The good news is, I'm well used to being broke. But to be clear, I don't do one iota of impulse or frivolous spending.
