I think we can safely say that people with kids are (historically) less likely to be selfish and self-absorbed. That's the central point being made.

@l.w.paradis2108 Hmm. The people I know who don't have kids have zero contact with children and no interest whatsoever. I've found that very few people in the world care about ALL children, or really any beyond their own sphere. I'll put it another way: they're likely to be LESS selfish because they simply don't have the option to be fully self-interested unless they're willing to risk accusations of neglect (which some parents are certainly guilty of).
