  1. Yeah, but it's still a lot of gimmicky BS. Authenticity *isn't* contagious, and there's no such thing as an ambivert. It's just an introvert who forces themself to engage with people (often inauthentically) to garner a certain outcome. All you're seeing is her 'presentation' of herself.

  3.  @imagomagus  Yup, that's the whole point. And if I'm wrong, I want someone to step up and correct me, not to hold their tongue out of politeness. I think you're starting to get it. And, yes, what you're talking about is definitely a game. It's the "who can be the most cordial and congenial" game. I'm not looking to WIN friends or INFLUENCE people. I'm looking for a genuine exchange between authentic individuals who aren't afraid to express themselves, unfiltered. All else is politics.

  5.  @imagomagus  It does but if you start off being interested, you set yourself up for a lot of disappointment. And you don't end up liking many people when it's all said and done. Humans are exclusive, not inclusive--and with good reason.

It reminds me of how people always say, "Don't be a know-it-all." Well, if I know things that might help someone, or correct them on something, I'm going to say it. Why? Because that's what I'd want them to do for me. In your thinking, I should play like I'm dumber than I am just to make other people feel comfortable and to get ahead. A thought: you can't build image and character at the same time.
