Jay L Which part of it didn't you understand?

Or there is no enemy and all is projection.

Whose morals?

@MsLinz1975 Cause and effect has nothing to do with right and wrong.

@stevengriffin7873 Nope. He's not free at any level. He has to tell you what will bring in the votes. The WEF is an indie group, they're not even establishment. That's what's sad. Listen to Yuval Harari and you'll clearly see that he calls for the decentralization of power, not the opposite. Like so many people today, you don't even know who's on your team (and who's definitely not).

Democracy would work if people weren't insecure and bent on "fitting in." The Chinese system has a sense of belonging and unity built-in, around which the people can rally with PRIDE, particularly when their system is rising to the top. Humans back a winner, not who has the loftiest ideals. Pragmatism reigns, and as individuals, people simply feel small and weak (regardless of their natural potential). Everyone is a collectivist at some level (even if it's just family); it's just bad collectivism vs. good "cohesive" collectivism.

Only until he turns out to be right.

@thegodofwar3744 I was replying to the OP.

@joanholman3105 How is it different than pushing your personal ideology on someone?
1
@YSFmemories No, I'm saying who gets to decide which set of morals is the correct one?

He got greedy with the CDC slam. Obviously there are good people in that organization who want the best for the American people. Never discredit an otherwise important testimony with a personal vendetta. Think before you speak, Bret.

What else could he have said?

Simping on women is not the way to get a BJ. What a sad day.

@kennorthunder2428 You forget that God is dead.

Harari's a genius. If we still need Shakespeare in 50 years, it'll be too late for the humans.

I'm afraid the loss of liberal values is the end of civilization.

@lostallmymoney2082 And that's the problem. Each side perceives that the other is setting the world on fire. AND...even when there IS an actual fire, yelling fire is going to produce (extremely) sub-optimal results.
1
People are the problem because people create bad culture, and bad culture destroys a society. The U.S. is deteriorating from the inside out. There are things to criticize about the WEF, but really listen to the things Yuval Harari says and you'll be hard-pressed to find much fault in his thinking.

Emotion is an aspect of the mind. To discount it entirely is as big of a mistake as exalting it above reason. "A mind all logic is like a knife all blade..."

I think he just quoted a Pat Benatar song.

Sorry, just a cheap conspiracy theory. These are smart people trying to solve problems. The chaos of overpopulation definitely does contribute to the overall condition of things. And it's not hard to correct for, in fact we're doing it right now without trying! Soon, we'll have the opposite crisis. You hate globalism because you think it implies more centralization of power, but it could be just the opposite.

The IDW has NOT held together. It's been a miserable FAIL.
