The video is propaganda.

@johnlewis8934 Cute. I don't suppose it would make a difference if I revealed that I'm objectively not an alcoholic. I can make a 6 pack last for a month or more. I can stare at the same can of beer for days and feel no temptation or compulsion to drink it. That's what I mean by objectively not an alcoholic.

@Blattzz802 It's giving you one side of the story...that, by definition, is propaganda. Alcohol has been proven to have many benefits for those who drink responsibly.

@talulatree5297 Which is fine, but we saw how it all played out with smoking, and how smokers became a persecuted, stigmatized group.

There's nothing wrong with coffee or alcohol...in moderation.

Alcohol in moderation can be very healthy. Wine in particular. Even nicotine in moderation can be healthy, it's the other substances in cigarettes that do the bulk of damage. I've used the word moderation here 3 times for a reason.

As there are drinkers who lead healthy, productive lives. All this vilifying alcohol makes me sick.

If you can't go 3-5 days w/o alcohol, you need something stronger than this video. That said, we need to stop vilifying substances with these propaganda videos. I'm much more concerned about the person who never drinks than the one who drinks every weekend.

You say you like the buzz, but later say you feel gross. That's strange. If you do feel bad after half a glass it could be something else going on. I would explore that first, as it doesn't sound like you have a problem. But obviously I could be wrong. I'm not trying to sway you either direction, but don't let others here cause you to see alcohol as some kind of villain. At worst, it's a double-edged sword for the average person.

If you drink it.

Ethanol, in and of itself*, has no DIRECT *physiological benefits. Be specific.

@qaiserkhan4465 Then why are the comments all so anti-alcohol?

@talulatree5297 Fair enough, I'm just concerned about the larger trend...if there should become one similar to that of cigarettes. Such things aren't to be viewed as agential enemies IMO.
