@WestwardTheWomen-bestmovieever just my personal opinion. If the tooth was hurting before and has stopped hurting, that does not mean that the tooth is dead. I don't believe teeth die painlessly. Just because a dentist wanted to do a root canal doesn't mean the tooth actually needed one. I would keep using dr. Ellie's system religiously and get that tooth checked out by a different dentist at some point in the future.

@dr.elliephillips Yes Dr Phillips. I'm using the rest of the system exactly as prescribed. The original Crest anti-cavity toothpaste, followed by Listerine original mouthwash, followed by ACT fluoride rinse. I'm not using Zellies mints, but another brand called PUR. Each mint has 1.1g of xylitol. I typically end up taking six of these every day. Initially I thought it was the Listerine because CloSYS is completely tasteless, odorless and colorless. But I did see a few negative testimonials about its use sprinkled around the internet, and so I decided to skip it just as an experiment and indeed, the sensitivity went away almost immediately. So I know it was definitely the cloSYS.

The CloSYS Ultrasensitive mouthwash was making my teeth extremely sensitive. I was only using it for a minute and just letting my teeth bathe in it. I stopped using it and the sensitivity has reduced a lot. It's strange why it would do that .... but since stopping it, now I can drink hot and cold liquids again.

Maybe it's the Listerine?

I think the advantage of closys is that it also gets at the anaerobic bacteria, which I don't think Xylitol does.

@hawleyw6 how are you doing now? Are you still avoiding the closys? I'm also wondering if it's might be causing my teeth sensitivity.

@elmumy1 so your teeth are no longer sensitive? That's great to hear. I have had to eliminate Listerine because it was making my teeth super sensitive. But I'm also wondering if closys is problematic for me as well. Because although the sensitivity has gone down since I stopped Listerine, it's still there.

@elmumy1 thank you. It's so great that it's working for you now.

@kengrew2616 I still get teeth sensitivity from CloSYS. So I just don't use it anymore. Sticking with the rest.
