People need to know there were a lot of Jewish activists protesting this Senator to get him to arrive at this position. There are a lot of Jewish activists working for peace.

@The-Man-Right-Chea I took that to mean that they are harming the civilians (and he cites the number of women and children), and that these people are not their enemy, not the enemy of the US.

They deserve a lot of credit, and this whole movement would be nothing without Jewish voices and support. Jewish activists, academics, independent media hosts, former soldiers, and just regular people. I get enraged with the sadism I see in some of these videos, but some of these people are propagandized, some just want to prevent harm against their people, and then some are rotten (like this lady who keeps appearing in these interviews). I reject the lunatics among the Zionists and I reject the people generalizing against Jews in general. For the latter, some are misguided and also some are rotten.

cp952 I agree, the Jewish activists have also provided a lot of morality to what’s happening. I’ve seen many interviews of Jewish people who visited Israel as Zionists, but then saw what was happening in the West Bank and changed their views. Some have made this film named Israelism, some are present at these demonstrations, some give testimony, some provide protection to Palestinian residents, etc. Their presence and voice have been essential for this public awareness of what’s happening there. It requires a lot of bravery and morality to do this, and to go against deep programming and I’m sure a lot of the time conflict with family members over their views.

@stephaniecarrow4898 I hope so also, and that pressure comes from all of these activists who have not let this issue die down, and not allowed things to run ‘business as usual.’ Like the other person in this thread said, this is the first time we are ever seeing the topic of Palestinians go mainstream, and this is the first time we are seeing even Jewish people be critical of Israeli polices. I never in my lifetime have seen anything like this. Even in 1991 I had a college roommate from the West Bank and his older brother was telling me about how Israel would jail them if they did not pay taxes, and yet they had no political representation. I said ‘that’s taxation without representation,’ and we wanted to report this to the Amnesty International Club on campus, but nobody cared. Palestinians (and Arabs in general), were thought of very differently back then. What we’re seeing now with people supporting the Palestinians is unprecedented.

@farukkarim9558 I totally agree with you, very creating in their messaging and approach, and it’s been a sustained effort.

@_filifjonkan4290 I agree, I think these politicians only respond to political pressure. That’s why these activists have not let the issue die down or let people go about business as usual. For many voters the next election will be difficult. We are stuck with one group of war mongers or another group of war mongers.
