@joeidaho5938 Fair enough, but from the perspective of that lady, it’s not a facist idea that she has a historical connection to that land. Maybe she was born there, maybe she’s an immigrant, I don’t know.
She was interviewed and didn’t call anybody names, and criticized that lunatic government there. With her, I just see someone who has been through hell, and now she’s lost her partner.
Some of these Israelis generally don’t know any better than to believe the Palestinians are out to get them just because they are Jews. That happened a lot in European history, and the government and culture there seems big on that.
On the other hand, there are some Israelis who are full of hate and all this. I don’t feel anything for them, but we’ve got to distinguish between the two groups. Even if the one group is only a small percent of the population.
I see this lady and just see a devastated human who does not curse Palestinians, is not demanding revenge, etc. I wish they would have at least let her say good by to her husband. Maybe they were not kept together, maybe the captors were in a rush, maybe the guy was thinking they would all be let go soon enough, or maybe he was just a jerk. Anyway, I feel bad for this lady.
