  1. Much respect if that man actually called them ‘racist.’ It’s a good reminder that there are normal and good people in Israel. I think in general these people want safety, and only the government can provide that, so they are sort of stuck following this lunatic government. I am not counting the settlers and all this, but clearly there is a segment of the population that is just decent people who want to live and let live.

  3.  @warm_mitts_and_tea Brother, with all due respect, I am Arab, and do not support colonial takeover of Arab land. At the same time, there are several million Israelis residing in that land, some of whom have been there for generations. So what’s the way forward? More suffering and misery, or we figure out a way that everyone can live and be safe? Some of these Israelis, they’re born into a place and time like the rest of us. They’re not racist, but they see a lot of hostility from the neighboring Arabs, and the version of history they’ve been told is sanitized, and all this. Or they’re told they don’t like you for your religion. Those are normal people who are a product of their times. They have been raised to believe that the Palestinians are the reincarnation of the Nazis. I don’t agree with their perspective, but I get where they’re coming from. In contrast there are these settler types who are actively racist and deranged. I have nothing good to say about them. This needs to end, not the tables need to be turned and now this group gets evicted and massacred, all of this lunacy just needs to end. They need to have their own state, fine, just get the settlers out of the West Bank, and give the Palestinians a viable, contiguous territory for their state. For the right of return, just pay them off or have some agreement where you at least acknowledge horrible things were done to them. Thats it, no more perpetual war, this craziness needs to end.
