I’m not Palestinian, so I can’t speak with them, but what’s the issue with a demilitarized state? I mean really?
Do the Palestinians really need to own tanks, fighter jets and all of this? Yes, people are saying it’s their right to have all of this, but better to just forgo that right so that it’s one less think Israelis would have to worry about.
Everybody needs to make compromises in order to get out of this cycle. They’ve existed for so long without a military, let Israel have a sense of security that the state immediately neighboring them is not capable of having an Air Force, tanks and all of this. Who cares?
As for someone mentioning Iran, I really don’t think Iran is an issue. I don’t know that I believe all of these claims about Iran’s involvements. These Palestinians don’t even know what a Shia is, and Iran’s government doesn’t necessarily act on behalf of the people, and the people there don’t have any connection to the Palestinians. So why is Iran a concern?

@dickschlau3592 Okay, problem is Israel, but it’s there now, so what can we do? Several million people exist there, and we can’t just say go back. Some of those people are now three generations in.
Everybody needs to make compromises. Israel needs to bring down these settlements. Israel needs some confidence that the population surrounding it is not capable of destroying it militarily. Okay, so a Palestinian state will be demilitarized.
We can’t have it where nobody will budge, that’s how it’s been for how long now. The Palestinians need a state without Israeli settlement, and without Israeli military going in. Israelis need a non-threatening neighbor, and they need the Palestinians to forfeit their right of return claims, or instead take payment or something else for them.
Both sides need to make compromises. This situation is so crazy it’s mind boggling how it exists for so long, but it exists only because the western powers have facilitied it.
