If the media would cover one third party that takes away more votes from one of the big parties then they would be guilty of being biased against the party they are takes votes from by supporting vote splitting. And some people might disagree with you that's it flawed because they prefer a strong rule (like the monarchies the people from the old world came from) rather than one that proportionally represents the will of the people.
