Russia is reacting to the security threat that NATO poses by expansion towards the East, as well as the US interfering in the Ukrainian civil war in 2014. Russia does not possess the size of army needed to take Ukraine as they went in with 120,000 soldiers instead of Hitler's 2M. Lets address the elephant in the room: the botched peace treaties of march 2022. Russia and Ukraine had an agreement to keep Donbass under certain considerations. If Russia wanted Donbass anyway they would never have reached this deal. give it a rest.

They should've stuck to neutrality like Belarus and Kazakhstan, or like Finland and Sweden- Russia didn't invade them in 85 years of neutrality.
