@joo7454 yes, Russia respected their rights to live as independent neutral countries from 1991 till 1999 when the first wave of NATO expansion began. I've asked Estonians and Latvians what their reasons were for joining NATO, and all of them spoke of their past history as the USSR as being the reason, NOT a present/developing threat in the 90s. The more important question is why NATO continued to exist after the fall of the USSR, which it was created to destroy. That's a question for the warmongers and hawks to answer.

The moment China gets access to the Russian S-500, and copies it- the balance of power will be tilted in Asia and Xi will be emboldened to challenge the USA directly.

@joo7454 historic trauma is no justification for future threats, that's just hysteria. The Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore, so there's no justification for NATO's continued existence- like I said, Russia remained peaceful and didn't interfere until NATO aggressive expansion. NATO is the aggressor here by upsetting the balance of power and peace in Europe- a throwback to the cold war, almost as is they're not content with victory, only total annihilation.

@valmiro4164 it was Cuba's decision whether they wanted to host Russian missile systems, but NATO wasn't cool with it. What makes this cool?

@joo7454 there was no vote locally to join NATO so i don't blame the ordinary Estonians and Latvians, they had nothing to do with the folly of their politicians, who made their countries pawns for America's military expansionism to serve the interests of the neocons, smiling to the bank to offset huge national debts caused by corruption. War is a business, and those who seek to profit from it know what to do and say to create the hysteria they exploit to achieve their goals. Always follow the money, a wise man once said.

Referendums need to be held. Let the people decide themselves where they want to go. Africa has the same problem.
