@ugvadugvaw but Turkey won't leave NATO. It has no reason to, so it can remain there to keep Sweden out. And it would be really bad for NATO if Erdogan shuts out NATO navies and lets in Russian naval vessels from the other fleets into the Black Sea.

@ugvadugvaw as for the sanctions, geez, haven't you been following what's going on? Everyone in the world that wants immunity from US and EU sanctions is piling over to BRICS. Turkey is no stranger to US sanctions that drove them to buy the S400 the first time. Keep going at these sanctions and it will soon be apparent who's isolating who, whether it's the West isolating Turkey, or its the West isolating itself from the world.

@ugvadugvaw Erdogan will not do what you want him to. You can cry harder and see if it makes a difference though.

@ugvadugvaw that depends on whatever Erdogan has left to offer Putin in return. Maybe Bayraktar drones? Maybe thousands of millions of artillery shells? Maybe buying a whole lot of Russian oil and gas? We'll see.

@ugvadugvaw say no more about the Turkish people if you don't know them. An election just happened and Erdogan won another tenure, and the opposition didn't call out to the US to deliver them from a dictator over a rigged election. Use your own head and figure it out.

@ugvadugvaw well I'm just an armchair observer, just like you, and neither of us are prophets so I guess time will tell what Erdogan will do next, but my point is: he can do a lot more to further the interests of Turkey while remaining in NATO by continuing to offer something to Putin in this total hybrid war that Putin knows he can't afford to lose.
