@zacksulics8021 you don't seem to understand the concept of cause and effect. Ukraine brought this on itself.

@zacksulics8021 choosing the EU and trying to join NATO are two different things. Putin's problem has been with NATO, which is a military alliance. Also, the EU is not a democracy, evidenced by their attempts to control who their members trade and relate with. Also Ukraine is no longer a democracy, all the political opposition has been jailed/arrested by Zelensky.

@bryanx590 that's not how it works, that land was given to them by Lenin. Secession is by indigenously owned landmass, not by exiling people from their homeland. Your suggestion is rich, coming from the hypocrites that created Kosovo in the middle of Serbia.

Do you even know why the people in these regions want to separate from Ukraine? Have you ever taken the time to listen to them?

@zacksulics8021 I didn't see your reply or I'd have responded to you sooner. Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is seen on video, talking about putting the children of Russian speakers in cellars while the Ukrainian speakers kids go to school. This happened before the Russians took over Crimea. If you search in the YouTube search bar "why these Ukrainians want to be Russian" you'll see a documentary from BBC (verified source) from 8 years ago, showing what the people of Donbass feel about Ukraine. Discrimination and subjugation create feelings of discontent and desire to secede. I know this because I live in a country like that, myself. For you to say "there were no problems" shows you don't know anything about Ukraine, as expected because before the war very few westerners could point to it's location on a map.
