NATO's very foundations are about to get challenged in this war. While Putin has made it clear that NATO should not interfere, Poland has shown an exceptional eagerness to join in the fight and might actually step out of line to attack Russian assets in Ukraine. If that happens, we shall see if the US will get involved this time instead of doing things from a distance as they've recently tended to do.

@skitpare2627 aren't you aware of how military alliances work? Article 5 demands that if one NATO country (Poland) is attacked, all NATO countries (without exception) are duty bound to defend their ally. Point being if Poland gets involved militarily, the USA is going to get involved militarily.

@jameskuyper ah, if article 5 doesn't cover Poland intervening in Ukraine, Poland will lose. This just makes it more precarious for them. Russia has committed only 1/5 of their forces to this war in Ukraine. Also, if Serbia and Libya had nukes like Russia, NATO would've not invaded and toppled their governments, remaining a "defensive alliance".
