  2. October 20, 2020. The youths in my country had a peaceful protest against police brutality which had been going on for DECADES. It was peaceful for 18 days, then the army went and killed 90+ people. Many of us believed the US would intervene in defense of human rights. They stayed in the street and got killed even more. Eventually everyone went into hiding, and the US pretended as if nothing happened. We made petitions, even Rihanna and a few Hollywood celebs showed support.. But that's all that came. Till today the government pretends people weren't killed, Biden's govt even supported it by declaring it "a country with religious freedom" (even though there's a Shia Muslim people that have been brutalized for 9 years running). That day we gave up on the West. Today we watch with surprise, as they pretend to care about democracy in Ukraine. And we truly realise, that we will be under a dictatorship for a long time because all fingers are not equal in the eyes of the West.
