@craigjones1497 the Budapest memorandum was nullified when Ukraine violated their oath of military neutrality contained in their Declaration of Independence. Proof: Belarus and Kazakhstan are still under Russia's protection, because they've never expressed any interest in joining NATO.

"The Ukrainian SSR solemnly declares is intention of becoming a permanently neutral state that does not participate in military blocs and adheres to three nuclear free principles: to accept, to produce and to purchase no nuclear weapons".
