They wanted to waste time so the German and French tanks get destroyed first, thereby protecting the sales value of the Abrams. Russia wouldn't know, and there would be no nukes. Right? Turn on your brain buddy. Not only can Russian anti-air take out the best of the best of the US, they can also ping F-22s with their ability to manipulate radar frequencies, even to detect AND lock on to stealth. Watch less Hollywood, and more of military analysis channels from before the war, before the lying began.
