Why is it "kind of amazing they're still an independent country"? Russia does not coerce its neighbors into anything, look at the relationship between Russia and Kazakhstan and Belarus and Turkmenistan and Georgia. They're all independent with their own constitutions.

@danielbirchfield8552 yes, that proves my point exactly. Russia had great relations with Ukraine when Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yanukovych were presidents. They were still sovereign and had independent constitutions, even right now. What's your point exactly?

@danielbirchfield8552 you're just repeating yourself. There's simply no evidence of "imperialistic attitude" towards most of the central Asian countries all around Russia as I've carefully explained earlier, with all of them having executive, judiciary and legislative arms all seperate from Russia. If you were able to show proof of Russian control over any of these arms you would have a legitimate argument but you have none, instead retorting with "empires gonna empire" lol what the heck is that? Russia has maintained it's 1991 borders up till 2014- and that only changed after the US interfered in Ukraine's civil war.

@antoniopannuti2088 what makes you think that Kazakhstan, for example, is a vassal state of Russia? Let's take this one by one, I promise you we're gonna have a civil discussion if you're up for it and we'll get to the bottom of whatever propaganda is at play.

I often find the mechanisms of control exerted by western mainstream media sources interesting, because the moment you try to get to the bottom of their arguments, there's always a particular dogma attached (often lacking in logical basis or evidence) which often elicits a strong emotional response when one questions it. It's interesting and scary at the same time.
