Once again NATO is at the center of Russian efforts to project its military power aggressively. Russia won't need to maintain a base in Syria if they didn't run the risk of a NATO blockade via Turkey, and this draws Iran into closer proximity with Israel which is the actual war that will cause Armageddon. All of this because NATO doesn't want to stop expanding after the end of the Cold War.

@myboysd5772 NATO expanded in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004 and Russia hadn't even expanded at all!

@sachemofboston3649 I didn't say NATO should cease to exist- read my comment clearly. Its the expansion in such a way as to surround Russia that was the problem and always has been. Only the maintenance of the balance of power can guarantee peace in the world. Unchecked power increases can only spark fear and mistrust. Peace is a pragmatic process of diplomacy.

@myboysd5772 you're talking about right now and I'm talking about since 2000. All this time Putin has been calling for negotiations but guess who refused to negotiate? Watch his famous speech at the Munich Security conference 2007 (I dare you to actually search this up and watch it). Only people who have consumed the mainstream narrative to excess don't realise that the opportunities for peace were squandered by the West and NATO. War is the result of failed negotiations and for Russia its existential.

@myboysd5772 I'm guessing you didn't search the speech up yourself, indicating you're unwilling to conduct any kind of research on the topic, and everything I've been saying went over your head, and that's okay. Whatever the results of this war escalation, we will face it together, you, I, and humanity, standing as one.

@myboysd5772 you still didn't search the speech, huh. The media says jump, supposedly high functioning human beings don't wanna transcend their programming, so they ask how high? it's Orwell's 1984 all over again.
