@New Moon the soviets collapsed under their own weight and corruption. But these are different times. Technology and transport have made international trade more open and easier. Russia can trade with other countries and you would be shocked to know how many we are. Just pay attention to how countries outside the EU treat Lavrov. Just pay attention!!!

Many of us said so at the time but many of these folks were so intoxicated by the power they felt nothing could ever withstand sanctions. Every reasonable argument was struck down with the propa ganda talking points "appease Putin never"
